Quanta’s construction engineer, Alistair Price knows the offshore oil and gas sector inside out having started his career at the sharp end in offshore drilling on North Sea rigs.
Alistair progressed to the role of assistant driller but after 11 years in the industry changed direction during the oil and gas downturn to work onshore in senior drilling positions in the geotechnical and construction sectors.
Prior to Quanta, Alistair was working as construction supervisor for engineering specialists, IHC, at the Port of Blyth responsible for the timely delivery of the construction phase of projects and identifying continuous improvement opportunities to keep projects on track.
This role has given Alistair unrivalled knowledge of the client-side experience to ensure a deep understanding of the challenges and demands of construction projects from a client’s perspective.
At Quanta, Alistair is responsible for managing the delivery of all client construction projects ensuring they come in on-time and on-budget and he thoroughly enjoys the everyday challenges.
He said: “My working career has given me an excellent understanding of managing construction projects, both offshore and onshore, and the importance of areas such as communication, technical know-how and work-ethic.
“At Quanta we are a close-knit team working hand in glove with the client to deliver optimum results quickly. Knowing what’s important and how to deliver that for the client in a timely manner is undoubtedly one of the reasons that Quanta enjoys such an excellent reputation. Being at the sharp end, helping clients and ensuring excellence in everything I do is what makes me tick.”
